The Gameroom
Blitz has been around for a while, so there's a good chance you've
missed some of the content and updates featured on the site in the
past eleven years. Fortunately, we're bringing it all back in
one handy page, including past site designs and lost articles.
Click the nickname of each site design for a more detailed view
of it, and click the circles on the sidebars to read the articles
that time forgot! |

2007... New
World Man |
A new generation of game
consoles brings with it a new look for The Gameroom
Blitz. The site put its blues behind it and
adopted a Web 2.0 design, with shiny icons and
compatibility for web browsers like Firefox, Opera,
and Safari. Classic Blitz features were given a
21st century update thanks to
YouTube. | |

2006... The
Blue Period/Crazy On
You |
It was the
end of an era as the Electronic Entertainment Expo
closed its doors to the public, but not before Sony
embarassed itself with a press event that would live
forever in infamy. This was also the year that
the Blitz went through its blue period, rebranding
itself GRB and retiring the not-so-daily
reviews. | |

2005... Future
Shock |
This
year introduced gamers to the Xbox 360, the first
in a series of high-definition, online-ready
consoles. It also marked the beginning of a brand new
project at the Blitz, Awesome NES. This book
(still in development) was designed to cover all the
games officially released for the Nintendo Entertainment
System. | |

|
2004... Future
Shock |
Sony
promised a potent portable with advanced multimedia and
online features, while Nintendo took a step back into
the past with a dual-screen handheld reminescent of the
Game & Watch. Meanwhile, The Gameroom Blitz
experimented with premium content and reviews of the
day. Or week. Or
month. | |

2003... Future
Shock |
The Gameroom
Blitz went on summer vacation, but came back with a
vengeance, sporting a futuristic new look.
Past that, it was status quo for both the site and the
industry as a whole. Microsoft, Sony, and
Nintendo kept releasing games for their systems... and
the editor kept complaining about them.

2002... Red
Line |
The
Playstation 2 and Game Boy Advance cemented their
dominance of the video game industry... and The Gameroom
Blitz dabbled with such extra-curricular activities as
artwork and photography. It also introduced a
handy sidebar, letting readers access the site's most
popular features in a
snap. | |

2001... GRB
Advance |
Two
tragedies occured this year. We're all familiar
with the first (the president won't ever let us forget
it), but the second was Sega dropping its support for
the Dreamcast. On the bright side, the Blitz
migrated from Topcities to Overclocked, and was given
the first in a series of
redesigns. | |

2000... Classic
Design |
In the year
2000... in the year 2000... gamers were warming up to
the Dreamcast, the Playstation 2 was on the verge of
being released to an eager public, and The Gameroom
Blitz... hadn't changed much from the previous
year. Luckily, a new HTML editor would
soon broaden the site's horizons
considerably. | |

1999... Classic
Design |
For the past
two years, things were quiet on the online front thanks
to the editor's interest in publishing a print version
of The Gameroom Blitz. However, a trip to the
Electronic Entertainment Expo and a move to Michigan
soon afterward rekindled the editor's interest in
updating the site. | |

1996... Classic
Design |
In 1995,
Jess Ragan discovered the wonders of the Internet.
One year later, he started his own web site with some
assistance from his friends Brian Pacula and Josh
Lesnick. Part fond remembrance of the past, part
bombast about the latest releases, this site would be
called... The Gameroom
Blitz. | |
