SITE NEWS - 2006

[08.24.06] » Apparently there was an IRC discussion about what FF VIII spin-offs would be like, so Jay suggested that I repost the write-up I did on the old GIA boards about Final Fantasy VIII Gaiden: Selphie no Daibouken, my "dream" FF VIII sequel. So I did!

In other Jay-related happenings, he also uploaded the scripts necessary to run the GIA RPG preview generator, survival horror preview generator, and Video Game Ineptitude Test, so these features are now working properly! (Or, if you're Brian Glick, proerply.) One more thing off the to-do list.

Thanks to those of you who provided suggestions about what you'd like to see on the Marsh--I like having an idea about why other people are reading this site :). If you'd still like to toss in your 2 gil, my ears remain open!

No new content yet, but there's always Cid Wars IV: Fabula Nova Cidolfas if you haven't read it yet! And I'll try not to plug it anymore after this :)

[08.23.06] » I restored a few more missing images to the Graphic Hacks section. At this point, the work left to do on the site is mostly fixing up various broken links and image references ... plus, of course, whatever new content I want to add :) . So, I thought it might be a good idea to ask what kind of content (if any! :P) people would be interested in me putting up the site. Other types of game-related writing (more non-fiction in nature), or just fanfics? And as far as the fics go, what style(s) would like to see? Totally wacky stuff, more character-based stuff, satire? Drama, even? I have a lot of projects in mind -- some are already in-progress or are even finished! -- so I have quite a bit of flexibility in terms of what I could post.

I guess I'd just like to get a feel for what (if anything) people would hope to see on this site, because I'm always the most excited about posting content that I know other people are going to look at and enjoy. I realize that there's a certain arrogance in this; probably, no one is really looking at the site or caring what I post on it ;). But if you do happen to be reading, let me know what kind of stuff you think I should do with this site. (Contact info. is below the brown box to the right). (I mean, yeah, yeah, this site is shit and shouldn't even be on the web, and the best thing to do with it would probably be to get rid of it, but I guess at least one or two people want to see it stay up, so I sorta have an excuse.)

[08.19.06] » Also thanks to the Wayback Machine, I scrounged up all my old FAQs and put the FAQs section back online. I really doubt anyone's going to care about this, since they're all so ancient and out of date, but I kinda like having all my game-related works archived on the site.

[08.18.06 #2] » Good news! The Wayback Machine amazes yet again, as it had archived even my puny site ... which meant it was easy to snag the Qu's Marsh-formatted versions off the prior incarnation of my site. So, The Guardian Amulet, Domino: The Untold Story, The Guardian Amulet 2, The PaRappa Files, and Love & Peace have all been reposted, and the few missing images from other fanfics have been restored. Everything in the fanfic section should now be complete :).

[08.18.06] » I took the site down for a week or so because I just felt too guilty about putting my works online. But I was feeling comparatively less self-critical today, so I decided to re-upload all the site contents for the second time this month. I hope I'll keep it around for a while this time, although I should put up a JP-style disclaimer that "author reserves the right to annihilate contents at any time." Hopefully, I'll receive few enough visitors that I won't have to feel guilty about inflicting my work on the world :P.

There're still some missing pages/images that I need to find; now that I have all my backups, I should be able to scrounge them up. I think I know most of what needs fixing, but if you stumble across anything missing, please let me know so I can make sure to get it repaired ASAP.

Also, check out Cid Wars IV: Fabula Nova Cidolfas if you haven't already :)

[08.08.06] » The explosive final act of Cid Wars IV is now online :).

Because I'm moving, I might not do any more updates for the next couple weeks. But feel free to send any suggestions or comments and, at the very least, I'll respond to them when I'm back online.

[08.07.06] » Aaaand here's Act Two of Cid Wars IV. Tomorrow: the finale!

[08.06.06] » As promised, Act One has been added to Cid Wars IV. Please don't actually read it or I might cry. (Note: You may need to reload the story to get the new act to appear.)

[08.05.06] » The prologue to Cid Wars IV is up. Acts One, Two, and Three will follow over the next three days. Hope this proves to be an enjoyable story for you folks!

[08.04.06] » After a two-year absence, Qu's Marsh is open for business again. If past experience is any indication, this means I'll update the site for a few weeks and then that will be the last anyone hears of me for a couple years. Oops ;).

Right now, this is just an image of Qu's Marsh as it was in 2004. The bad news is that there's currently a few missing documents and images. I have all the missing stuff, but I'm currently in the process of moving across the country, and the CDs have already been boxed up. When I move into new place and get them unpacked, I'll post the missing files.

But the good news is that--for once--I've completed some new fanfics! I'm excited about posting them, which is why I went ahead and launched even with some of the older stuff missing.

I've decided to experiment with serializing my stories. Rather than go silent for months and then come out with a single massive file, as I've done in the past, my plan is to try posting things in daily updates to spread out the story a little. (For those of you skittish about serials that never get finished, I have written everything and this is just a matter of proofreading and uploading.) If it doesn't work out, I can always switch back to the old format!
