SNK's not a company
that's well known for their role-playing games, but they
did a darned good job with this one. Crystalis has
a unique storyline (you're woken out of a cryogenic
sleep to help save a world ravaged by war), along with
solid visuals and a fun, action-packed combat system
that lets you charge up your sword to fire magic bolts
at distant enemies. |

Cyberball addresses
the issue of ball-hogging by replacing the ball with a
bomb that becomes increasingly unstable after every
down. If one of your robotic players holds onto
the perilous pigskin for too long, it's blown to bits
when the ball explodes! It's a unique gimmick in
an otherwise bland football simulation with slow players
and seriously ugly visuals. |

If you're looking
for cheap, unavoidable deaths and mercilessly hard
gameplay in your shooters, we've got good news!
While you're waiting for the men in white coats to pick
you up, you can play Cybernoid, a game that will appeal
to your most maschocistic urges. Those of you who
HAVEN'T gone completely out of your minds would be wise
to avoid this dreadful Acclaim release. |
