Hal added a whole
new dimension of gambling to this casino sim...
occasionally, people will drop by to swindle you,
challenge you to games, or beg you for cash to feed
their own compulsive gambling addictions. This
brings some depth to the otherwise straightforward
gameplay, which includes such casino mainstays as
blackjack, roulette, and keno. |

Blend together three
different game styles, then throw in cinema scenes that
rival Ninja Gaiden's and dialogue straight from an
1980's crime drama, and what have you got? One of
the best games on the NES, that's what! Vice:
Project Doom is a great looking, great playing title
with fast-paced racing and first-person gunplay adding
zest to the familiar platforming action.

Videomation lets you make
great works of art, or just make a mess out of your
television screen, with a wide variety of drawing
tools. Although the color selection you're given
is rather limited, this drawing utility is surprisingly
powerful and easy to use, with lots of handy features
and strong control of your onscreen pen. It's the
best creativity studio you're going to find on the
NES. |

Most of Nintendo's early
sports titles were simple but effective recreations of
the games that inspired them. This is not the case
with Volleyball. It's simple, oh yes, but it's
anything but effective, with clumsy team control that
will leave you hopelessly confused and a shrieking
whistle after every play that threatens to drive you
mad. Spike this one in the trash! |
